Personnel are experienced in a wide variety of inspection, sampling and testing methods used in the field and laboratory. Results from field testing and laboratory analysis typically determine compliance of materials, conditions and workmanship with appropriate specifications, standards, and regulations. TEC was founded in 1966, and has offices in Troy, Ann Arbor and Detroit.

From our first day in business, TEC has recognized the basic truth that our company is only as good as its employees.  The fact that TEC has attained a high degree of excellence in our service areas is a tribute to our staff and their desire to exceed the expectations of our clients.  To maintain that distinction we are seeking skilled, professional, and creative individuals to join the TEC Team!

Entry level industrial hygiene technicians typically begin by learning basic building survey techniques for a variety of contaminants of concern, including asbestos, lead containing paints and industrial chemicals. Technicians are also trained in basic air sample collection techniques for a variety of contaminants. Initial assignments for the new technician frequently involve sampling and on-site analysis for airborne asbestos fibers during active abatement (removal) of these materials following federal guidelines. TEC provides all training following the federal NIOSH 582 guidance for air sampling and asbestos fiber counting. This includes classroom activities, sampling, sample preparation, microscope set-up, fiber counting and calculation of fiber densities. This is very often the first professional certification that the industrial hygiene professional attains when entering the world of occupational health and safety compliance.
